Business Development Manager

Location: Brentwood (Flexible)


We are recruiting for an experienced Business Development Manager to drive our PERI UP Scaffolding pipeline.

The ideal candidate will set the strategic sales direction for scaffolding, access and shoring to support the UK business and to secure targeted projects, leading the evolution of solutions and systems to meet changing construction approaches within the sector. You will hold the responsibility for overseeing the successful delivery of projects across the business, whist driving our sales performance within the wider construction market.

As well as solid experience with Formwork, Falsework and scaffolding solutions, the ideal candidate will have worked in a sales role previously, operating a similar business model of sales and rental.


Key Duties

  • Early identification of target projects in order to develop potential solutions in advance of project being awarded to a specialist sub-contractor
  • Work to identify and target new projects and customers within the scaffolding market for PERI UP
  • Develop a robust project pipeline within CRM for Scaffolding opportunities, mainly within construction
  • Negotiate trading agreements and discount levels for new customers, whilst operating within the company financial guidelines
  • Develop training opportunities for PERI UP to support our market share growth within the scaffolding market
  • Attending customer briefings and liaising with specialists in the UK or Weissenhorn (Germany) to ensure the safest and most cost-effective solution is offered
  • Forecasting turnovers and managing budgets
  • Presenting key project bids and leading contract negotiations
  • Maintaining records before, during and after each project is completed
  • Providing detailed product presentations to customers and other relevant parties e.g. owners, developers, main contractors etc
  • Monitoring the long-term outlook for scaffolding projects to signal upturn, or downturns in opportunities as early as possible

What you'll need

Experience

  • Extensive experience of scaffolding solutions
  • Commercial experience within the scaffolding sector
  • Proven knowledge of all scaffolding, access and shoring systems used within the sector
  • Advanced technical understanding of PERI Systems (preferable)
  • Previous sales experience within the Construction Industry
  • Good experience in all aspects of Formwork, Falsework and scaffolding solutions
  • Extensive contacts in the construction industry

  • Strong work ethic, open and reliable
  • PC literate with good knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office standard programmes
  • Commercial experience within the scaffolding sector

You will be required to hold a full driving license for this position.
