Your responsibilities

  • Leading the design of complex Engineering Projects
  • Ensuring the safe, efficient and innovative technical delivery of Engineering systems
  • Support preparation of offers with technical advice and guidance
  • Prepare detailed structural calculations, “Proof of Stability” design charts & worksheets according to UK codes
  • Provide full and accurate material list for contracted Projects
  • Coordinating external fabricators regarding the fabrication of special steel parts and components
  • Identify technical issues proactively to eliminate or mitigate design risks

Your profile

  • Chartered Professional Member of ICE or IStructE
  • University degree (civil or structural engineering), key areas: Bridge or Tunnel construction, steel design, Temporary Works
  • 7+ years practical experience/professional experience in designing temporary works structures from steel associated with the construction of bridges and tunnels and complex concrete infrastructure structures
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of and experience with Auto CAD or similar software
  • Knowledge of and experience with RStab preferable
  • Ability to manage a small interdisciplinary team
  • LEAN oriented, ability to continuously improve efficiency
  • Good command of English both written and verbal
