Digital technologies to shape the world of scaffolding and formwork

PERI UK will be exhibiting at Digital Construction Week (DCW), where attendees can learn more about its cutting-edge use of technologies such as virtual and augmented reality, and how these will streamline the planning and execution of future formwork and scaffolding projects.

In what will be PERI UK’s first appearance as an exhibitor at the event, DCW ’17 will provide a valuable platform for the manufacturer of formwork and scaffolding solutions to showcase its advanced digital engineering capabilities in action.

Technical experts from PERI UK will be on-hand to provide interactive demonstrations of its use of virtual reality, allowing customers to experience the spatial relationships of PERI systems during the design process first hand. Also on show will be examples of augmented reality drawings which use PERI’s exPERIence app to enable the user to view conventional 2D technical drawings in 3D form. The app allows systems to be optimised with greater ease by offering customers a clearer picture at the design stage, before they are delivered.

PERI will also be demonstrating its 5D BIM formwork and scaffolding capability, as well as some of its cloud-based project management solutions such as CENTRIO CLM and myPERI.

Exhibiting alongside PERI UK will be sister company CENTRIO, which produces software for the construction industry, including PERIpath, an integrated scaffold progamme enabling the best value proposition for scaffolding and access systems to be determined.  Advantages offered to customers include increased project predictability, reduced inventory costs, and more efficient deployment of labour and material assets.

Andrew McCluskey, Marketing Manager of PERI UK, commented: “The construction industry is beginning to embrace digital technology and the substantial benefits it can offer to improve efficiency and safety.  PERI has significant capabilities in this area which can directly benefit our customers when designing anything from small builds to national construction projects.  The technology we will be exhibiting at Digital Construction Week will benefit the industry, aiding training and development. It will also have a positive impact on the way customers utilise material and labour assets, and administration around these functions, providing benefits in respect of time and costs.

“We have developed technology that meets the needs of our customers by understanding their frustrations and challenges and look forward to showcasing it at Digital Construction Week.”
