PERI Starts Work on Third School in Nairobi

PERI is proud to announce its involvement in the development of a third PERI School, set for completion in 2026, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable educational infrastructure worldwide. Partnering once again with the Global One Foundation and Start Somewhere gGmbH, the project aims to deliver safe, modern learning environments to communities where they are most urgently needed.

Following the successful delivery of two previous PERI School projects, construction is now underway on a new facility in Kibera, Nairobi. Another modern school building is now being constructed using our innovative TwistBlocks moulds, demonstrating their effectiveness in creating durable, adaptable structures in challenging environments.

The new development builds on the existing Global One Campus in Kibera, which includes a PERI-built primary school completed in 2024. Today, approximately 385 children—from preschool through to sixth grade—benefit from access to quality education in a safe and modern setting. However, demand continues to grow, particularly for secondary education facilities.

Previously, upper-grade students in Kibera were accommodated in buildings that had become structurally unsafe and unsuitable for continued use. Recognising the risk to both students and staff, the decision was made to replace these facilities with a purpose-built, high-quality structure using the TwistBlock system.

The new school will serve as a senior secondary institution for students in grades 10 through 12 and is being designed in accordance with the standards set by the Kenyan Ministry of Education.

With the third PERI School, scheduled for completion in 2026, we are joining forces with the Global One Foundation and the Start Somewhere gGmbH to send a strong message in support of sustainable educational infrastructure.

The new PERI School in Kibera will include:

  • Modern, well-equipped classrooms
  • A dedicated science laboratory
  • A computer lab to support digital learning
  • Staff and administrative offices
  • Kitchen and restroom facilities
  • Spaces for social and medical services

In addition, the design incorporates an accessible rooftop terrace. This flexible space will not only support school activities but also provide capacity for future expansion as demand grows.

This project stands as a powerful example of how innovative construction methods, strong partnerships, and a shared commitment to social responsibility can come together to create meaningful, long-term change.
