Climbing Formwork Systems

Building taller and more complex structures than ever before

PERI climbing formwork systems provide efficient solutions for the construction of vertical concrete structures across building and infrastructure projects. In an ideal world cores would progress seamlessly through every level, but demanding project timelines mixed with structural changes, we need systems that can adapt as we build.

Our product range includes rail climbing, self-climbing and crane-climbing systems, with solutions designed around different structural requirements, construction sequences and site conditions.

Combining innovative climbing technology with engineering expertise, digital planning and on-site support, PERI helps project teams to develop efficient and practical formwork solutions from planning right through to construction.

Climbing formwork for buildings and infrastructure

Our climbing formwork systems continue to be chosen for a wide range of construction projects, both above and below ground. Every project has its own requirements and presents its own challenges. Building height, geometry, construction sequence, crane availability and the integration of other building elements all play a role.

PERI's experience across major UK projects demonstrates how we overcome these challenges.

Protect your working environment with LPS

Three60 is one of the newest high rises on Manchester’s skyline, standing 51 stores tall with over 400 apartments. With temporary works support from PERI, Renaker is delivered this project as part of the wider Great Jackson Street development scheme.

PERI's lightweight protection screen provides climbing protection and a safe enclosure for high-rise construction. These were installed over four floors. In addition to deflecting wind loads as the building grew in height, the design of these screens had to account for other demands, such as cycle time, access to the slab edge and avoid potential clashes with columns.

LPS Screens on the Three60 project
The process of cycling the LPS screens was very easy. Cycling two screens at once was a big advantage for us as it saved a lot of time and helped us to push the project along.

LPS Lightweight Climbing Enclosure

The system can be adapted to different geometries whilst integrating formwork, working platforms and access arrangements within the enclosure. The assembly of the mesh enclosure can be assembled quickly without a crane; the system can also be delivered pre-assembled.

With rail-guided climbing, LPS ensures safe and fast-moving operations as your project progresses.

Move materials efficiently with the XL Hoist

The XL Hoist provides a high-capacity transport solution for high-rise construction that speeds up site operations, freeing up time for cranes to do more of the heavy lifting. The system can be cantilevered, serve the wet deck, and is easy to relocate if required. It can be integrated around any type of climbing protection screen, including PERI LPS and RCS systems.

Planning your climbing formwork solution

The most effective climbing solutions are the ones taken into consideration early on. Selecting the right climbing formwork is not just choosing any system, but the one that will work best for the project's requirements. PERI's specialists can support you right from the planning stage all the way through to delivery, ensuring you make the right choice for the best outcome.

Digital Engineering

Using 3D modelling and BIM, our digital engineering experts can identify potential clashes in the project programme between temporary works elements like propping and falsework. Having this information early on helps your site teams to improve coordination and reduce the risk of costly changes during construction.

Staged visualisations and animations can also demonstrate the climbing sequence, formwork movements and construction methodology. These digital services can support project coordination, method statements, risk assessments and workforce communication.

Onsite Support

Our support goes beyond just the design and supply of a system. PERI site teams can provide practical support throughout your project, helping ensure climbing equipment is understood, handled correctly and integrated efficiently.

For climbing formwork applications, qualified PERI supervisors can demonstrate the correct operation and handling of the system, explain drawings, and provide guidance on maintenance and cleaning. This ensures that those handling the systems on site understand the equipment and its intended use, supporting safe and efficient climbing.

The CB climbing system provides safe working conditions with wall formwork at all heights.
With PERI SCS, the loads from the fresh concrete pressure are transferred without formwork ties through the brackets into the climbing anchors of the previous concreting section.
PERI RCS climbing combines the advantages of different systems in a modular system that makes the easy adaptation to site-specific requirements possible.
The drive rails are available in two variants, depending on the type of project at hand: RCS MAX C and CL. Both allow the platforms to be moved safely in 750 mm increments.
