PERI Showcases Stair Access Solutions at Rail Live UK

Scaffolding specialist PERI showcased its innovative PERI UP scaffolding system at this year’s Rail Live UK event in Stratford, highlighting how the system enables safe and efficient stair access to temporary bridges frequently used on rail projects.

These temporary bridge structures are typically installed to maintain pedestrian access during planned maintenance or improvement works, when permanent routes are unavailable. The PERI UP system is designed for quick installation, flexibility, and a high level of safety — making it ideal for fast-paced rail environments.

This is just one of the temporary access systems that PERI offers. Depending on site requirements, its newly launched Public Access System – introduced earlier this year at bauma – can also be combined with footbridges like this to provide pedestrian access in areas with high footfall.

PERI was invited by Mabey Hire to display its access system and join the team on their stand throughout the two-day event, exhibiting alongside a range of Mabey Hire’s infrastructure solutions. The showcase featured the integration of PERI UP stairs with Mabey Hire’s Pedestrian BeamBridge, highlighting how bridging and access solutions can be combined to meet the demands of complex rail projects.

Senior Sales Engineer, Stephen Parker, commented: “It was a well-attended event that clearly highlighted the value of access systems like PERI UP. The system provides safe, unobstructed access, which is crucial for infrastructure projects and especially important on railway sites, where space is limited and high-risk areas are common. The event also gave us a valuable opportunity to speak with visitors about how our certified scaffolding training courses can make a real difference, especially in the rail sector, where training and safety standards are highly regulated.”
