Rye Meads is one of Thames Water’s largest sewage treatment works, currently serving more than 400,000 people across North and East Hertfordshire. As part of an ongoing programme to upgrade key infrastructure on site, contractor Gel Engineering has been appointed to refurbish several of the site’s older treatment tanks. This involves cleaning out the existing structures and casting new concrete collars around their perimeters. With support from our team on the project’s formwork requirements, Gel Engineering is set to complete the refurbishment of 12 tanks by 2030.
