From achieving a high-grade architectural finish to forming intricate shapes above 100 m high, all three projects feature aspects of complex concrete construction, facilitated by PERI formwork and scaffolding.
For the winning entry, Mersey Gateway, PERI provided VARIO GT24 girder formwork, SB frames and VARIOKIT components to form the multifaceted shape of the hammerhead bridge piers. PERI’s innovative application of the SB frame provided the required support for working platforms and accommodated the structural design.
To meet the high architectural specifications on the BBC Television Centre, including an exposed wood effect on the atrium wall, PERI provided comprehensive formwork services for all walls, columns and slabs.
PERI also demonstrated architectural capabilities on White Collar Factory, as two of its advanced climbing systems, ACS and RCS, lifted formwork and prefabricated working platforms up the three main cores.
Speed and accuracy were crucial in this process and this was achieved by introducing ACS platforms for the first time on a UK project, which has proved beneficial on a number of notable projects ever since.
